hey can you please tell me the ways to smooth things I know that you can just hit set smooth but that gives it a odd black look to comlacated models or you could add subserf but that kind of shrinks the object ore there eny other ways? please help

you have to add subsurf... and then setsmooth ;)
next time you have to put subsurf into consideration so it wont "shrink" the object :)
so what exactly are you modeling?
